To Our Downtown Community,

I am pleased to share the news that the Downtown St. Louis Community Improvement District (CID) has successfully filed its petitions for amendment to the City of St. Louis! We are incredibly grateful to the community for its support in this process. This has been an educational and rewarding journey that we are eager to complete. While we have proudly reached this initial achievement, we are aware of individuals attempting to pressure property owners, who have signed our petition, into rescinding their vote. The active manner in which these individuals are approaching property owners does not lend to the supportive, community-centered neighborhood that we all enjoy. I ask that you please maintain your support throughout the approval process. If you are approached by this special interest group please notify me or members of our CID Board with any concerns you may have.

The Downtown St. Louis community is a diverse collection of residents, small and family-owned businesses, property owners, sporting and entertainment operators, and major employers that connect with our team on a weekly basis. Our work encompasses addressing urban space items from all of these groups within our streamlined service areas of safety, maintenance, beautification, and public infrastructure. To see more information on our services and how your assessment is appropriately redistributed back into the community, please review my most recent communication to the community.

On behalf of the Community Improvement District staff and its Board Members, I want to extend our sincerest appreciation to the Downtown community for its support in our effort. We could not have reached this point without your valued support and we look forward to continued collaborations within the District. We will share additional updates throughout the approval process via social media and email over the next few weeks. As always, if you have any questions regarding our amendment, please do not hesitate to contact me at kmccrary@downtownstlcid.org or (314) 335-2307.

Sincerely,
